This year, we will host our 5th Annual Dr. DeMasi Endowed Lecture on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Longship Club, Kroger Field. The DeMasi Endowed Lectureship is a tribute to the life and accomplishments of Dr. John Christian DeMasi, who completed his residency in radiation oncology at the University of Kentucky in 2019. Dr. DeMasi was a passionate advocate for patients affected by vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (vEDS). Through his nonprofit organization, FIGHT vEDS, and collaborations with researchers from the University of Washington, he made significant contributions to the understanding and treatment of vEDS. The DeMasi family, along with the support of faculty, alumni, and friends of the UK College of Medicine's Department of Radiation Medicine, established this lecture series to bring distinguished leaders in radiation oncology to the University of Kentucky each year
Target Audience
Radiation oncologists, residents, alumni, and other faculty members.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe emerging research and clinical advances in radiation oncology that impact cancer treatment outcomes.
- Evaluate current approaches and innovations in radiation therapy that improve patient care and treatment effectiveness.
