Bone Day at UK bridges critical knowledge and clinical performance gaps in identifying, diagnosing, and managing complex bone disorders in both pediatrics and adults. Designed for physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and researchers across endocrinology, nephrology, orthopedics, PM&R, and rheumatology, this program addresses the challenges of an evolving clinical landscape.

Target Audience

The program is intended to support physicians, nurses, physician assistants, advanced practice providers, and researchers in endocrinology, nephrology, orthopedic surgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, rheumatology, and related disciplines in improving the care and outcomes of patients with bone disease.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the unique physical, functional, and communication challenges experienced by patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) across different stages of disease progression.
  • Identify the major endocrine complications associated with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and chronic glucocorticoid therapy.
  • Examine evolving clinical needs of individuals with pediatric-onset bone disorders across adulthood, highlighting disease-specific challenges that emerge during adult
  • Describe the basic principles of radiation physics and radiobiology relevant to benign/rare disease.
