This conference will provide updates and new information relevant to the care of children and adolescents who receive medical care at Children’s Advocacy Centers. Healthcare providers will receive updates regarding online safety for children, the interpretation of toxicology testing in children with exposure to illicit substances, identification of normal and abnormal genital findings, diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections, and assessment of children and teens who report strangulation. Medical literature relevant to child sexual abuse cases will be reviewed. Case studies of unusual sexual abuse exam findings will be presented and discussed.

Pediatric providers (MD, RN, ARNP) who provide medical care to children who have experienced sexual abuse.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Assess a patient who reports strangulation.
- Review what tests to order when a patient reports illegal drug exposure
- Identify key articles relevant to child sexual abuse.
- Discuss how to speak with caregivers about internet safety.
