Jacqueline Sugarman, MD is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Kentucky, Division of Pediatric Forensic Medicine. She board-certified in both pediatrics and child abuse pediatrics. She serves her community and the Commonwealth as the medical director for both the Children's Advocacy Centers of Kentucky and the Children's Advocacy of the Bluegrass, where she is also a medical provider. Dr. Sugarman is a member of the Kentucky Association of Sexual Assault Programs' Sexual Assault Response Team Advisory Committee and the Kentucky Multidisciplinary Commission on Child Sexual Abuse. She participated in writing The Kentucky Medical Protocol for Child Sexual Assault/Abuse Evaluation, which ensures that children across the state have access to standardized quality care. Dr. Sugarman was the recipient of a National Sexual Violence Visionary Voice Award in 2025, in recognition of her work in combatting child abuse across Kentucky
