Establishing Best Practices for Collaborative Care for Patients with ASCVD Between Academic and Rural Providers

Healthcare providers are unfamiliar with LDL-C targets and how to implement therapeutic regimens to achieve treatment goals in rural patient populations. Healthcare providers lack familiarity with the role of elevated Lp(a) as a risk factor for ASCVD and how to target elevated Lp(a) in rural settings.

2025 Kentucky Harm Reduction Summit

The purpose of the Harm Reduction Summit is to provide the opportunity for individuals to learn more about evidence-based best practices regarding harm reduction/disease prevention strategies and broaden the impact of implementing evidence-based best practices in the realm of harm reduction operations throughout Kentucky.

Redesigned Family Medicine Review

These two 3-day conferences will feature the most up to date changes in disease state management and drug therapies for family medicine practitioners along with interactive workshops. HB1 credit and Nursing Pharmacology hours will be available.

DEA Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act

Starting June 27, 2023, renewing DEA-registered practitioners must complete 8 hours of one-time training on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders.

The CDC has newly issued recommendations for the monovalent COVID booster targeting new strains for everyone older than 6 months of age. In addition, there are two new RSV vaccines, one for infants and one for adults. These illnesses account for high levels of hospitalizations while vaccination rates remain low.

Opioid Prescribing & Addiction

These online modules are intended to help the prescriber identify and screen for substance use disorders, use KASPER and urine drug testing therapeutically, and recommend treatment options particularly for vulnerable populations.
