Date & Time of Session - 2/27/26 - from 12:00 - 1:00PM

Overview
Hemorrhage remains a leading cause of preventable death in trauma patients, making early recognition and intervention critical to improving survival. Tranexamic acid (TXA) has been shown to reduce mortality when administered early after injury. Despite strong evidence, variability persists in clinician knowledge and practice regarding appropriate patient selection, dosing, and timing of administration, particularly in prehospital and emergency settings. This presentation will review current evidence and provide practical guidance to support consistent, timely use of TXA and improve outcomes in trauma patients.

Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
1. Describe coagulopathy of trauma and the role of TXA in reducing fibrinolysis in patients with traumatic hemorrhage
2. Evaluate the key clinical evidence and guideline recommendations supporting the use of TXA in trauma
3. Analyze the clinical evidence for use of TXA in special populations
