Overview
UTI’s are common infections across all settings that are frequently over tested and over treated. Updates to the IDSA guidelines highlight changes to classifications of UTIS as well as updates to durations of antibiotic therapies. There are significant pharmacist stewardship opportunities to prevent screening and treatment of asymptomatic bacteriuria.
Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
1. Review urinary tract infections and asymptomatic bacteriuria
2. Design therapeutic plans using updated recommendations from 2025 IDSA complicated UTI guidelines
3. Relate guideline concepts to institutional performance and stewardship:
