After this session, participants will be able to:
• Explain the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT)
• Review an overview of typical brain organization and development using the NMT lens
• Discuss how a history of trauma, developmental delay, and physical/mental illness can influence the stress-response system and increase risk for aggressive behaviors.
• Demonstrate the use of NMT for assessing and understanding children impacted by trauma, neglect, and abuse
