“Assisted Outpatient Treatment ("Tim's Law") in Kentucky: Legal and Clinical Processes"

After this session, participants will be able to:
- Describe the legal framework and eligibility criteria for Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) under Kentucky’s Tim’s Law (KRS 202A). Participants will identify who may petition for AOT, the statutory requirements for court-ordered treatment, and key steps in the petition and hearing process.
- Explain the roles and responsibilities of clinical and legal professionals in implementing and monitoring AOT orders. Participants will outline how judges, attorneys, and community treatment providers collaborate to ensure adherence and continuity of care.
- Articulate Kentucky’s ongoing statewide implementation of Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) under Tim’s Law. Participants will describe current efforts to expand AOT programs across Kentucky, including implementation milestones, data-driven outcomes, and lessons learned from implementation efforts to date.
