Dr. Shmookler is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. After completing a fellowship at The Ohio State University in Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine in 2017, he went to WVU (West Virginia University) Medicine where he served as Medical Director of the Blood Bank, Coagulation Laboratory, and Cellular Therapies Laboratory. In 2023, he then moved to Lexington, KY where he has since been employed at UK HealthCare. Currently, Dr. Shmookler serves as Section Director of the Blood Bank, Coagulation Laboratory, and Cellular Therapies Laboratory.
