Melissa Soper, DNP, APRN, ACNP-BC

Melissa Soper, DNP, APRN, ACNP-BC, is an Advanced Practice Provider Supervisor in Cardiovascular Critical Care at University of Kentucky HealthCare. With nearly two decades of critical care experience, her clinical and leadership work focuses on cardiovascular critical care, ECMO, post-intensive care syndrome, workforce and organizational well-being, and APP professional development.
Melissa has served in multiple acute and critical care roles across nephrology, pulmonary, and cardiovascular specialties and has contributed extensively to APP mentorship, leadership development, and well-being initiatives across the organization. She is the co-chair of the UK APP Well-Being committee and co-developer of the APP Connect mentorship program designed to support onboarding, retention, and professional growth of Advanced Practice Providers.
Her scholarly interestes include ICU recovery, long-term outcomes following critical illness, and clinicial wellness. She has participated in multiple research studies and publications related to post-COVID recovery, ICU rehabilitation, and social determinants of health in critical illness survivors. Melissa has also presented regionally and nationally on ECMO recovery, APP burnout and retention, clinician well-being, and post-intensive care syndrome through organizations including the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
