Harish Ram, MD

Harish Ram, MD is currently an associate professor in the department of Anesthesiology providing excellent care to patients associated with University of Kentucky Hospital system. He received his medical degree from Bangalore Medical College (India), completed residency from University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM and fellowship from Cedars Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles, CA. He is certified with the American Board of Anesthesiology and is a Diplomate of National Board of Echocardiography. As a member of division of cardiothoracic anesthesia, he participates in dedicated cardiac anesthesia and perioperative echocardiography service including providing 24/7 call coverage and is in the forefront of a cardiac service line that is rapidly growing to meet the needs of people of Kentucky and surrounding regions.
His prior work experience includes - as an assistant professor in Division of Anesthesiology & Critical care at the University of New Mexico and University of Miami during which time he was promoted to associate professor in the clinical educator track.
Dr Harish Ram serves as the Program Director of cardio-thoracic anesthesia fellowsip. He actively takes part in departmental didactics. He teaches clinical anesthesia in the operating room to medical students, residents and fellows. He Provide hands on resident & fellow learning experience in perioperative TEE and Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS). He is involved in point of care ultrasound curriculum development and serves as a faculty mentor for residents and cardiac anesthesia fellows.
