Bahaaeldeen Ismail, MD, M.Sc., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He specializes in Digestive Diseases and Nutrition within UK HealthCare, where he has practiced since 2017. Dr. Ismail is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. In his clinical role, he provides expert care in general gastroenterology while leading specialized programs in GI motility, esophageal diseases, and small bowel endoscopy.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Ismail is deeply committed to medical education and innovation. He serves as an Associate Fellowship Program Director, where he enjoys teaching students, residents, and fellows. His research interests are focused on the complexities of esophageal diseases and GI motility disorders, with a specific focus on the development and implementation of AI-driven local models to improve patient outcomes.
