Deanna Fliehman, Pharm.D., BCPS is currently the Pharmacy Education Manager and PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program Director at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in northern Kentucky. Deanna received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy in 2013. She then completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in 2014 and accepted a clinical pharmacist generalist position at St. Elizabeth Healthcare to begin her career. In 2016, Deanna accepted the challenge of establishing a new leadership position within the Department of Pharmacy created to focus on pharmacy education, specifically the residency program, intern development, student oversight, and staff education. During Deanna’s tenure she has expanded the PGY1 Pharmacy Class from 3 residents to 7 residents; developed two new ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency programs; created an intern career ladder; expanded APPE student rotations from four to fourteen; established a formal onboarding and training program for new pharmacists; and launched a Pharmacy Department Education Fund for staff education and conference attendance. A strong believer in the power of mentorship for young professionals, Deanna regularly develops internal educational programming to accelerate growth and nurture talent.
