Pediatricians regularly face common medical myths in everyday practice—like fears that fever causes brain damage or that green snot automatically means a child needs antibiotic. These persistent misconceptions drive anxiety, unnecessary visits, and low-value treatments. There is a need for practical, evidence-based discussion of these high-frequency myths to help clinicians confidently counsel families, provide reassurance, and promote thoughtful, appropriate care for routine pediatric illnesses.
