Dr. Prakash Jayabalan is the International Medical Director and the Physician Scientist Director of the Nancy W. Knowles Strength and Endurance Lab at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, and Associate Professor at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. His lab’s work focuses on using biological markers to develop novel, individualized rehabilitation and exercise strategies for individuals with knee osteoarthritis. He has received multiple federal and foundation research grants and educational awards.  His significant contributions to the field have been recognized in the past 2 years, with him receiving both the Early Career Academician Award from both the AAP and AAPM&R. In addition to research and mentoring, his other passion is advocacy for our field, and he has been the Chair of the Healthcare Policy and Legislation Committee of the AAPM&R and AMA House of Delegates Representative for the AAP.
