Mira Mirzaian, MPH

Mira Mirzaian, MPH, is an epidemiologist at the Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center (KIPRC). She earned both her Bachelor of Public Health and Masters of Public Health with a concentration in epidemiology from the University of Kentucky. During her graduate training, she was a NIOSH-sponsored trainee through the Central Appalachian Regional Education and Research Center (CARERC), where she focused on the health and safety of agricultural and rural populations. Since 2021, Mirzaian has worked across multiple initiatives at KIPRC, including the CDC-funded Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) program and the Fletcher Group’s Rural Center of Excellence (RCOE). Her work involves applied epidemiologic analysis, public health surveillance, and collaborative research. Her current interests include drug overdose, recovery housing, injury prevention, and occupational health.
