Genia McKee, BA

Genia McKee has served at the Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center (KIPRC) for twenty-five years contributing to a broad range of injury prevention initiatives. Her work has spanned community capacity building, outreach, coalition development, database management, and program coordination.
KIPRC, housed within the University of Kentucky’s College of Public Health, is the bona fide agent for the Kentucky Department for Public Health. In her current role, Genia is a research project manager focused on harm reduction and overdose prevention under the CDC‑funded Overdose to Action (OD2A) grant.
Before joining KIPRC, she worked as a community organizer with regional and statewide nonprofits and cooperatives across Kentucky, concentrating on agriculture and community development finance. She is a graduate of Berea College.
