Femi Akintomide, MB BS, FMCP
Dr. Femi Akindotun Akintomide, MB BS, is a current neurology resident physician at the University of Kentucky with international training and experience in internal medicine and neurology. He completed his undergraduate training at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University (2007) and holds fellowship-level qualifications in neurology (FMCP, Nigeria). He has also completed a clinical research fellowship in cerebrovascular disease at the University of Alberta, Canada.
His primary academic and clinical interests include cerebrovascular disease, neuromuscular diseases, epilepsy, cognitive disorders, and demyelinating conditions.
Dr. Akintomide trained in Nigeria and Canada and is currently in the United States, with progressively responsible roles, including leadership roles such as Chief Resident. He has contributed to research, with multiple peer-reviewed publications and involvement in a major international clinical trial in stroke.
He is engaged in medical education, teaching medical students, and participating in academic conferences and workshops. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Neurology and international stroke societies.
