James Lee, MD
Dr. James “Jimmy” Lee is a Professor of Radiology at the University of Kentucky, where he serves as Program Director of the Diagnostic Radiology Residency. He is an active clinician and educator with expertise in emergency and abdominal radiology, and is deeply committed to resident education, curriculum development, and mentorship. In his role as Program Director, Dr. Lee oversees all aspects of residency training, with a focus on preparing trainees for both clinical excellence and academic success.
Dr. Lee is actively involved in national radiology organizations, including the American Society of Emergency Radiology, the Society of Abdominal Radiology, the American College of Radiology, and the American Board of Radiology. He has held leadership roles within the ACR, including serving as Chair of the Polytrauma Expert Panel. His scholarly and collaborative work spans multicenter research initiatives, appropriateness criteria development, and contributions to radiology education on a national level.
At the University of Kentucky, Dr. Lee is an engaged member of multiple multidisciplinary tumor boards and the ADORE Research Alliance. He is recognized for his commitment to innovation in education, strong mentorship of trainees and junior faculty, and dedication to advancing the field of radiology through clinical excellence, research, and service.
