Pediatric Perspectives Lecture: Pediatric Constipation Diagnosis and Treatment
Pediatric Perspectives is a quarterly, live virtual educational series focused on key challenges impacting pediatric patients cared for in community and smaller hospital settings across Kentucky. This series is designed for physicians and nurses who infrequently manage pediatric patients and may have limited access to pediatric subspecialty resources.
This session of the Pediatric Perspectives series focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric constipation. Participants will review how to recognize functional constipation and distinguish it from organic causes, identify red flags that warrant further workup or referral, and apply evidence-based approaches to disimpaction, maintenance therapy, and family education in the community hospital setting.
