Attendance is In-person or zoom. Registration Required. 

In-person attendance is located at the University of Kentucky in the Healthy Kentucky Research Building, room 150. Lunch will be provided. For zoom attendees, a link will be sent after you complete registration.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Differentiate the key clinical and biochemical features of X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH) from other causes of rickets and osteomalacia.
  • Outline the systematic steps in evaluating pediatric patients with suspected bone disorders, including history, physical examination, imaging, and laboratory investigations.
  • Compare conventional and biologic treatment options for XLH, integrating patient age, disease severity, and multidisciplinary management goals.
  • Explain the genetics and inheritance patterns of hypophosphatasia (HPP) and recognize low alkaline phosphatase as a diagnostic biomarker.
  • Formulate a long-term multidisciplinary care plan for patients with XLH transitioning from childhood to adulthood.
