After this session, participants will be able to:

1. Define drug-resistant epilepsy
2. Distinguish which patients may benefit from early epilepsy surgery after failure of the first anti-seizure medication
3. Identify the key components of epilepsy presurgical evaluation zones, including seizure onset zone, epileptogenic zone, symptomatogenic zone, functional deficit zone, and epileptogenic lesion
4. Describe indications for neurostimulation in DRE
5. Discuss DBS and RNS mechanisms of action and response rate
