I currently serve as an Assistant Professor of Neurology and Epilepsy at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky.

I completed a combined Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University (2023–2025), where I received advanced training in epilepsy monitoring, EEG interpretation, and management of complex seizure disorders. I previously completed a Visiting Physician and Research Fellowship in Epilepsy at the same institution (2015–2016). I completed my adult neurology residency at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (2004–2008), where I ranked third nationally, and earned my Doctor of Medicine degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences.

Prior to my current role in the United States, I served for over a decade at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran, where I held academic appointments as Assistant Professor and Associate Professor and contributed to the training of neurology residents and epilepsy fellows. I also served as an Epilepsy Fellowship Program Director and maintained an active clinical practice in epilepsy care.

I am board certified in General Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy Monitoring and hold active medical licenses in Kentucky. My research portfolio includes more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, with a focus on epilepsy, biomarkers differentiating epileptic and functional seizures, EEG and ECG changes in seizure disorders, and surgical and clinical outcomes in drug-resistant epilepsy.

My academic interests include seizure semiology, responsive neurostimulation, and improving diagnostic accuracy and outcomes in epilepsy care. I remain actively involved in clinical research, medical education, and advancing evidence-based epilepsy management.
