Wayne Tworetzky, MD

Dr Wayne Tworetzky is the Director of Fetal Cardiology and Senior Associate in the Department of Cardiology at Boston Children's Hospital and Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School. He completed pediatric residency and cardiology fellowship at The University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and prior to that trained in pediatrics in London, UK. He also trained in Cape Town, South Africa, where he attended Medical School. His clinical and research interests are in the natural history of fetal congenital heart defects as well as medical and interventional therapy in utero. His research interest has ranged from the study of pulmonary hypertension to echocardiographic errors to the impact of prenatal diagnosis on perinatal outcome. In addition, he has research interest on the effect of CHD on brain development and neuro-developmental outcome. he is a founding member of the Fetal Heart Society and has led and participated in multiple multicenter studies.
