Katrina Nickels, MD, DFASAM completed her medical and internal medicine residency training at the University of Kentucky. She has clinical experience in hospital medicine and worked in community based hospice and palliative medicine with Bluegrass Care Navigators for almost 15 years, and became board-certified through the practice pathway. She then completed the addiction medicine fellowship program at the University of Kentucky and joined UK as faculty in the division of palliative & supportive care. She provides addiction and palliative care for patients who receive their cancer care or infectious disease care at the Markey Cancer Center and the Bluegrass Care Clinic. She also provides addiction treatment at the UK First Bridge Clinic.
