Coy Flowers, MD
Dr. Coy Flowers is a graduate of the West Virginia University School of Medicine and currently Associate Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Kentucky. In medical school, he joined the US Navy where he completed his internship and residency at the National Naval and Walter Reed Army Medical Centers. In the United States, as well as abroad in Cuba and Iceland, he served more than a decade in the US Navy and left active service as a Lieutenant Commander.
Dr. Flowers resides in Lexington, Kentucky, transitioning from private practice to faculty at UK. A Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology (ACOG), Dr. Flowers has also been a Clinical Assistant Professor at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and Lincoln Memorial University’s DeBusk School of Osteopathic Medicine. Additionally, he has served as Chair for both West Virginia & Kentucky ACOG and is a past President of the West Virginia State Medical Association.
Dr. Flowers has chaired statewide Maternity Care Provider Shortage Committees focusing on Telecommunications in Rural Health. Dr. Flowers has served in multiple medical staff leadership roles and continues his national work with ACOG & the AMA in advancing women’s health.
