Angie Chisholm, DNP, CNM
Angie Chisholm is a certified nurse-midwife and faculty member at Frontier Nursing University with more than 15 years of full-scope midwifery experience. Throughout her career, she has been deeply committed to trauma-informed, person-centered care, with a particular focus on supporting women in recovery and breaking cycles of generational trauma. She is also the founder of a women’s health clinic in Shelbyville.
Angie is passionate about innovation in maternal health and consistently works to improve outcomes through quality improvement initiatives, community partnerships, and consumer outreach. She currently chairs the KyMMM Healthcare Access Committee, advancing statewide strategies to strengthen perinatal care access. Angie’s creative work includes The Heart of Touch, a short film highlighting the importance of skin-to-skin care, and co-hosting Midwifing America, a podcast reimagining maternity care in the United States.
An active member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives, she serves as co-chair of the Public Engagement Committee and played a key role in launching the Discover Midwives website. Angie earned her MSN from Frontier Nursing University and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Johns Hopkins University.
