Galinos Barmparas, MD

Dr. Galinos Barmparas, MD, FACS, is a trauma surgeon, surgical intensivist, and academic leader at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he serves as Medical Director of Trauma Services, Director of Acute Care Surgery Research, Staff Physician II, and Associate Professor of Surgery. He is also a Health Sciences Associate Clinical Professor at UCLA. Dr. Barmparas completed his medical training in Greece, followed by a research fellowship at LAC+USC, general surgery residency and surgical critical care fellowship at Cedars-Sinai, and postgraduate trauma surgery training at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa. His academic work focuses on trauma resuscitation, whole blood and hemorrhage control, quality improvement, artificial intelligence in trauma imaging, and high-fidelity trauma simulation. He is widely recognized for his leadership in trauma systems, national committee service, mentorship, and a substantial body of peer-reviewed scholarship.
