Mansi Shah-Jadeja, MD
Mansi Shah is an assistant professor at the University of Kentucky, Division of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Shah completed her general surgery residency at the University of North Carolina and then her fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University Kentucky. She then joined the faculty at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Shah has a passion for medical student education and has served as Assistant Clerkship Director and now Clerkship Director for the Third-Year Medical Student Surgery Clerkship. She also is the Core Faculty for any medical students rotating on Cardiothoracic Surgery and serves as the Vice-Chair for the Third Year Medical Students Clerkship Directors. Her passion for education extends to the resident/fellow level as well. At the national level, Dr. Shah is a topic editor for the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, Thoracic Surgical Curriculum Task Force. She has been part of the development of a national oral board preparation course through the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and has contributed to the reorganization of the national electronic textbook, Pearson’s Society of Thoracic Surgeons E-Book. She is also actively involved in the Thoracic Surgery Directors’ Association as a member of the early specialization committee.
She has also demonstrated a commitment to robotic thoracic surgery and has led the development of the robotic thoracic surgery curriculum, robotic thoracic surgery simulation curriculum, and robotic thoracic surgery program at the University of Kentucky. She is a member of Robotic Steering Committee at the University of Kentucky and is one of the highest volume robotic thoracic surgeons in the state. At a national level, she sits on the Society of Thoracic Surgeons Task Force on Robotic Surgery. Recently she has adopted use of the Single Port Robotic Platform for thoracic surgery and is looking to continue to innovate in robotic technology within thoracic surgery.
