Laurie McLouth, PhD
I am an Associate Professor of Behavioral Science in the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Markey Cancer Center, and Center for Health, Engagement, and Transformation with expertise in supportive oncology and palliative care, cancer survivorship, and cancer care delivery research. The goal of my research program is to improve the quality of care and quality of life of cancer patients and their family/family-like caregivers by developing, implementing, and disseminating supportive oncology and cancer care delivery interventions. As a clinical psychologist with expertise in implementation science and the delivery of behavioral and psychosocial interventions, I take a rigorous approach to intervention development and testing, using qualitative and quantitative research to understand intervention needs; iteratively refining intervention protocols with user and partner feedback; and identifying care processes and infrastructure that will support intervention adoption and implementation in routine cancer care.
