Dr. Henrietta S. Bada is the Mary Florence Jones Professor of Pediatrics at the College of Medicine, University of Kentucky. She also serves as the Director of the Division of Maternal and Child Health of the Kentucky Department for Public Health in the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. She graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines, completed her residency in Pediatrics, and a fellowship in Neonatology at the University of Louisville. She has a Master of Public Health from the University of South Florida. She has served as faculty at Southern Illinois University and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. A clinician and researcher, she has numerous publications in the areas of newborn brain disorders, physiological measurements, perinatal addiction, and developmental follow-up. Dr. Bada was a recipient of The Kentucky Children’s Hospital Schwartz Award for Compassion, for her exceptional service and commitment to our smallest patients with neonatal abstinence syndrome, providing care without judgment, with focus always on the family unit. Dr. Bada was awarded the HRSA Maternal Child Health Bureau Director’s Award, presented to an individual who has made noteworthy state or national level contributions to the health of infants, mothers, children, adolescents, and children with special health care needs (CSHCN).
