Dr. Marie Colbert joins the University of Kentucky Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology after completing a fellowship in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology at Children’s Hospital Colorado in August 2026. Prior to Fellowship, she earned her Medical and Master of Public Health Degrees from the University of Iowa then completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center, followed by nine years of practice in general obstetrics and gynecology.

Her clinical interests include abnormal uterine bleeding, bleeding disorders, PMOS/PCOS, complex contraception, transgender health and healthcare disparities in adolescents. Her research in fellowship focused on adolescent abnormal uterine bleeding, bleeding disorders and gynecologic care in patients with anorectal malformations contributing to peer reviewed publications and national conference presentations.

Dr. Colbert is passionate about medical education, multi-disciplinary collaboration and advancing evidence based gynecologic care for children and adolescents.
