Adam Omelianchuk, PhD, MA is an Assistant Professor in the Center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy at Baylor College of Medicine and a practicing clinical ethicist (HEC‑C) at Houston Methodist Hospital. His academic research interests focus on the determination of death, emerging technologies in organ transplantation, and the ethics that govern deceased organ donation. He has recently published in ethics journals about philosophical and religious approaches to clinical ethics and updated a major encyclopedic resource on the definition of death.
