Lindsay Ragsdale, MD, FAAP, FAAHPM

Dr. Lindsay Ragsdale graduated from medical school in 2006 and completed her pediatric residency in 2009 at the University of Kentucky, followed by a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in 2013. She is board certified in both Pediatrics and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Currently, she serves as the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Kentucky Children’s Hospital, Division Chief of Pediatric Palliative Care, and a Professor of Pediatrics. Dr. Ragsdale is a national leader in her field, contributing significantly through her published work including a publishing a book on case-based advice on pediatric palliative care. She has held numerous national roles, now serving on the Board of Directors for the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM).
As CMO, Dr. Ragsdale is dedicated to improving the culture of safety within Kentucky Children’s Hospital, in Lexington KY, through advanced leadership skills. She emphasizes strategic vision and communication, collaborative leadership, data-driven decision-making, and empowering staff. By fostering open communication, promoting teamwork, and utilizing data analytics, she ensures high standards of patient care and safety. Dr. Ragsdale’s leadership inspires resilience and adaptability, creating a supportive and proactive healthcare environment that prioritizes patient safety.
