Mariyam Hashmi is a pediatric gastroenterologist who obtained her medical degree at Dow International Medical College (DIMC) at the Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) in Karachi, Pakistan graduating in April 2015. Upon graduating, Dr. Hashmi returned to the United States for pediatrics residency training at Charleston Area Medical Center/West Virginia University in Charleston, West Virginia which she completed in June 2020. She then completed a pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition fellowship at Connecticut Children’s/University of Connecticut in Hartford, Connecticut in June 2023. During her fellowship at Connecticut Children’s, she completed additional training in neurogastroenterology and motility disorders with specialized training in esophageal and anorectal disorders. Dr. Hashmi joined the University of Kentucky Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology in August 2023 as the program lead in developing the Pediatric Neurogastroenterology and Motility Disorders Program.
