Kelley began on her nursing journey at UK HealthCare within the Neuroscience Department. Transitioning from her role as a dedicated bedside charge nurse on the stroke unit, she assumed the position of Stroke Program Coordinator. Collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, hospital executives and many others, Kelley spearheaded efforts to attain Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification from The Joint Commission, ensuring unparalleled quality of care for intricate stroke cases across the bluegrass region.

Expanding her impact, Kelley assumed roles such as Education and Quality Coordinator, Quality and Research Associate, and recently accepted the role of Managing Director for the UK HealthCare/Norton Healthcare – Stroke Care Network. This collaborative network, dedicated to enhancing stroke care across the Commonwealth and beyond, extends support to 41 hospitals spanning a tri-state area, guiding them toward stroke certification achievement.

Kelley's dedication now focuses on advancing all facets of stroke care including fostering stroke prevention initiatives. Through her advocacy for a unified, comprehensive approach, she helps facilitate regional and national education efforts and provides advisory services.
