Alecia Cyprian, Doctor of Philosophy

Dr. Alecia Cyprian is Chief Executive Officer of Southeast Community Health Systems, a Federally Qualified Health Center serving medically underserved communities across four Louisiana parishes: East Baton Rouge, Livingston, Tangipahoa, and St. Helena. Since joining the organization in 2014, she has provided strategic direction for its growth to 21 service sites, two in-house pharmacies, and an expanded portfolio of primary care, behavioral health, and specialty services.
Dr. Cyprian serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Community Health Centers as the Region VI representative, where she chairs the Health Center Excellence and Training Committee and serves on the Legislative Committee. She is Immediate Past President of the Louisiana Primary Care Association Board of Directors and a past president of the Louisiana Rural Health Association. She has served as faculty for NACHC's Health Center Board Roles training and as Lead Mentor for NACHC's CEO Institute and Affinity Group. She is also an Advisory Committee Member for Petra College.
Prior to joining Southeast Community Health Systems, Dr. Cyprian spent 18 years in higher education as a director, dean, and assistant vice president, overseeing enrollment management and student finance and holding principal roles in state and federal program compliance. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and a Master of Education and Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration from the University of New Orleans.
