Michelle Searcy, RN, BSN

I am a passionate Public Health Leader and Registered Nurse with 34 years of experience across emergency medicine, med-surg, home health, and school health administration. Since 2010, I have served the Franklin County Health Department in Frankfort, KY. Currently, as the School Nurse Administrator, I lead a team of 12 school nurses, an APRN, and administrative clerks. Together, we connect students to healthcare resources and advocate for an integrated, collaborative approach to youth well-being.
My career is focused on community impact and continuous improvement. I actively participate in local quality improvement committees, serve as a childhood fatality review team member, and sit on the board for the Kentucky Pediatric Cancer Research Trust Fund. Dedicated to knowledge sharing, I have also spent over two decades training community partners as a CPR/First Aid Instructor. My contributions to the field have been recognized with the Kentucky Colonel commission and the 2021 KPHA Nurse of the Year award. Ultimately, my work is driven by ensuring school health programs help students succeed academically and thrive in life. Outside of my professional dedication, I have been happily married for over 32 years and am the proud mother and grandmother to a wonderful, growing family of children, spouses, and grandchildren.
