Graduated from Moscow 1st Sechenov academy June 1984, finished Anesthesiology and Intensive Care residency at Kyiv Advanced Physicians Teaching Institute in October 1987. Worked as attending physician to May 1996 at Kyiv Dniprovskiy Regional hospital. Started Anesthesiology residency at the University of Kentucky at July 1999, and graduated June 2003. Training in Cardiac anesthesiology was at Cleveland Clinic Foundation from July 2004 to June 2005.
