Dr. Okoli is a professor at the University of Kentucky College of Nursing, where he serves as the executive director for the Behavioral Health and Wellness Environments for Living and Learning (BHWELL). He also directs the Behavioral Health Research and Evidence-Based Practices and Tobacco Treatment Services at Eastern State Hospital, a state psychiatric facility in Lexington, KY. His current research and scholarship focus on evidence-based strategies to promote tobacco control in mental and behavioral health settings. As a nurse practitioner and a nationally certified tobacco treatment specialist, he also trains mental and behavioral health providers in delivering evidence-based tobacco treatment.
