A graduate of the UK College of Medicine and ob-gyn residency program, William Rayburn, MD, MBA is an emeritus distinguished professor, chair of obstetrics and gynecology, and associate dean at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine.  In 2020, he joined the faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina as a maternal-fetal medicine specialist, A recognized educator, Dr. Rayburn has received teaching excellence awards at four medical schools. His  continuously funded research has led to over 800 peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and national conference abstracts, primarily addressing high-risk pregnancy, physician workforce dynamics, and medical education evaluation. Dr. Rayburn has held leadership roles on several national medical boards, including serving as President or Chair of the Board for the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), Society for Academic Continuing Medical Education (SACME), Academy of Fellows in Continuing Medical Education, and Council of University Chairs in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CUCOG). He is the author or editor of 21 professional reference books. His  most recent The Obstetrician-Gynecologist Workforce: Challenges and Strategies will be the title of this morning’s talk.
