Cassie Potvin serves as the Trauma Service Line Director for Ascension Texas, where she provides strategic leadership and oversight for trauma operations across 11 facilities. Her portfolio includes; six Level IV trauma centers, one level III Pediatric, two level II, and two high-acuity facilities in Austin: Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas (Level I), Dell Children’s Medical Center (Level I).

In her leadership role, Cassie drives the implementation of business and operational strategies to support the growth, standardization, and excellence of trauma services across the Ascension Texas system. At Dell Children’s Medical Center, she directly oversees multiple teams, including trauma and surgical advanced practice providers, trauma research, injury prevention, the Child Abuse Research and Education (CARE) team, and the Level I Pediatric Surgical Verification (CSV) program.

Cassie began her nursing career in 2002 as a pediatric ICU nurse before transitioning to emergency nursing in 2006. In 2010, she moved into hospital and trauma program leadership roles, where she has led teams through seven successful ACS Level I and II trauma center verifications and two Level I Children's Surgical Verifications—all with zero deficiencies. Her core professional passions include trauma system development, performance improvement, leadership growth, and program expansion.

Cassie holds an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from Central Texas College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Mary Hardin–Baylor (2012), and a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (2017). She completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at The University of Texas at Austin in May 2023.

Outside of work, Cassie enjoys spending quality time with her husband Jeff and their four adult children. The family loves to travel, especially to Port Aransas, where they enjoy beach days, bay fishing, and cheering on their favorite baseball and football teams.
