Maya Ignaszewski, MD, is an assistant professor at the Gill Heart & Vascular Institute at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Ignaszewski (better known as Dr. I to her patients), specializes in advanced heart failure, LVAD and transplant cardiology. She completed her cardiology fellowship at Cooper University Hospital and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Ignaszewski is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiology, Echocardiography and Nuclear Medicine. Her clinical focus combines all aspects of heart failure including medical management, right heart catheterizations and endomyocardial biopsies, cardiopulmonary exercise stress tests, cardiogenic shock, inotropic therapy, left ventricular assist devices and heart transplantation.
