Sonu Abraham, MD, FACC, Assistant Professor of Medicine, is an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist at the Gill Heart & Vascular Institute at the University of Kentucky. She also serves as the Associate Program Director for the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship. Dr. Abraham leads the institute’s Hypertrophic and Infiltrative Cardiomyopathy Clinic, providing specialized care for patients with complex cardiomyopathies.

Dr. Abraham earned her medical degree from Government Medical College, Calicut, India. She completed her internal medicine residency at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts, where she served as Chief Resident. She then pursued fellowship training in cardiovascular diseases at Beth Israel Lahey Health in Burlington, Massachusetts, followed by advanced fellowship training in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois.
