Art Still is a former University of Kentucky football standout, NFL All‑Pro, Kansas City Chiefs legend, and passionate advocate for hereditary ATTR amyloidosis awareness. A native of Camden, New Jersey, Still played defensive end at Kentucky from 1974–1977, earning consensus First‑Team All‑American honors, two First‑Team All‑SEC selections, and SEC Outstanding Senior Player honors. His No. 97 jersey is retired by the University of Kentucky, recognizing his impact as one of the program’s greatest defensive players.

Selected No. 2 overall by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 1978 NFL Draft, Still enjoyed a 12‑year NFL career with Kansas City and Buffalo. He recorded approximately 80 career sacks, earned four Pro Bowl selections, two All‑Pro honors, and two Chiefs MVP awards. He was inducted into the Chiefs Hall of Fame in 1998 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 2015.

Following his football career, Still devoted himself to business, community service, mentorship, and health advocacy. Diagnosed with hereditary ATTR amyloidosis in 2023, he transformed his personal experience into a mission to educate others about the disease, the importance of early detection, and the value of knowing one’s family health history. Through Still 4 Life, the nonprofit he founded, he advocates for patients and families affected by amyloidosis.

Art and his wife, Liz, have 11 adult children and 28 grandchildren. To date, three of their children have tested positive for the ATTR variant. His journey as an elite athlete, husband, father, grandfather, and patient advocate gives him a powerful and deeply personal perspective on cardiovascular health, awareness, and the life‑changing impact of early diagnosis.
