Natalie Jo Hawes, RN, BSN, CCRP is the Research Protocol Manager for the UK Markey Cancer Center Hematology and Cellular Therapy division. She also serves as a clinical instructor at the University of Kentucky College of Nursing. She holds bachelor's in Agricultural Biotechnology and Nursing, minors in Spanish and Biology, and is defending her PhD in Nursing in 2026. Her background includes in-patient and outpatient clinical care for pediatrics and adults. As a certified clinical research nurse and experienced oncology nurse, her passion for supportive care in the hematology/oncology setting inspires her work. Her focus is on supportive care, particularly nutrition and physical activity in the oncology population. She has presented her finding at numerous conferences as oral and poster presentations as well as published several articles in peer-reviewed journals. Ms. Hawes has received multiple scholarships and awards throughout her career. In addition to her dedication for research, she holds several leadership positions within professional nursing and research organizations.
