A native of New Orleans, LA, Dr. Mike Brunet received his Master in Exercise Physiology and PhD in Sports Medicine from the University of Virginia, while also becoming a Certified Athletic Trainer.  After graduate school he returned to his undergraduate alma mater to become the Division Chair of Exercise Science at Louisiana College.  During this time he also became active in clinical research and became the Chair of a statewide Institutional Review Board, successfully managing two FDA audits.  After teaching, Dr. Brunet was asked to be the Regional Research Director for Christus Health.  In this role he was responsible for over 100 clinical trials at 5 hospitals across Louisiana and Southeast Texas.  In 2023, Dr. Brunet became the Director of Clinical Research here at UK St Claire and has covered many sports teams since the late 1990’s, presently doing so as an outreach Athletic Trainer for UK.  Throughout his professional career, Eating Disorders has been his particular research focus.
