Keisha Wells, BS

Keisha Wells is a Rural Project Manager Senior at the University of Kentucky’s Center of Excellence in Rural Health, where she leads initiatives to expand access to assistive technology and disability services across eastern Kentucky. With more than a decade of experience serving rural communities, she manages the Appalachian Center for Assistive Technology, a regional hub providing assistive technology demonstrations, workforce training, adaptive toy lending, medical equipment reuse, and student-centered accessibility programs.
Keisha is actively involved in community-based research and outreach, including the CARAT-TOP program, which empowers high school students of all abilities to create local accessibility solutions. She also helped establish one of the region’s first stroke support groups, and has worked as both a stroke patient navigator and a Wellness Recovery Action Plan facilitator. Her work spans multiple state and federal initiatives focused on improving healthcare transitions and strengthening disability inclusion in rural health systems.
