Amber Stepp, APSS, CSA, CHW

Amber Stepp serves as the Lead Peer Recovery Coach with Appalachian Regional Healthcare, where she oversees peer recovery coaches across Kentucky and West Virginia. In her role, she helps train peers, integrate peer support into care teams, coordinate outreach initiatives, support overdose prevention programs, and connect individuals to treatment, recovery resources, and community services.
Amber began her career with Appalachian Regional Healthcare in 2022 as a Peer Recovery Coach at Harlan ARH Hospital. Since then, she has continued to expand her impact throughout the region by helping strengthen peer services and improve access to recovery support.
Amber is a Certified Peer Support Specialist, Community Support Associate, and Community Health Worker. She is currently working toward becoming a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Kentucky.
With both personal and professional experience in recovery, Amber is passionate about helping others find hope, healing, and a path forward. She is dedicated to breaking stigma, increasing access to resources, and building stronger recovery communities throughout Appalachia.
In addition to her work with Appalachian Regional Healthcare, Amber is the Founder and Executive Director of No More Lost Voices, a nonprofit organization focused on prevention, recovery, reentry, and implementing youth ideas into the community. She also serves as Vice Chair of the Harlan UNITE Coalition and Chairperson of the Harlan County ASAP Board.
